Cabbage and Carrots:
- ½ green cabbage, shredded
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Teryaki Sauce:
- ⅔ cup soy sauce
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Other Ingredients:
- 16oz spaghetti (1 pound box)
- 3 ½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Sauté Vegetables: Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add oil, shredded cabbage, and carrots. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to become tender.
- Prepare Sauce and Spaghetti: Add soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, ginger, and garlic to the pot. Mix well. Add spaghetti to the pot, optionally breaking it in half for easier cooking. Pour in 3 ½ cups of water.
- Cook Noodles: Cook uncovered for 15-18 minutes. Stir occasionally, especially as the noodles soften, to prevent sticking.
- Finish and Serve: Once noodles are cooked, remove from heat and toss in sesame seeds. Serve hot, garnished with additional sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
