Cabbage and Carrots:

  • ½ green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Teryaki Sauce:

  • ⅔ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Other Ingredients:

  • 16oz spaghetti (1 pound box)
  • 3 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Sauté Vegetables: Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add oil, shredded cabbage, and carrots. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to become tender.
  2. Prepare Sauce and Spaghetti: Add soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, ginger, and garlic to the pot. Mix well. Add spaghetti to the pot, optionally breaking it in half for easier cooking. Pour in 3 ½ cups of water.
  3. Cook Noodles: Cook uncovered for 15-18 minutes. Stir occasionally, especially as the noodles soften, to prevent sticking.
  4. Finish and Serve: Once noodles are cooked, remove from heat and toss in sesame seeds. Serve hot, garnished with additional sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
